Accelerators & Programs

Sydney is home to a range of accelerators, incubators, and government funding programs supporting founders at every stage. Programs vary in eligibility, investment terms, and application cadence — check each directly for current round status.

01 Accelerators & founder programs

  • Startmate Accelerator ANZ's flagship early-stage accelerator; $120K for equity; 12-week hybrid program. Next cohort Jan–Apr 2027, apps open.
  • Antler Australia Pre-seed residency in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane; $260K investment; 8-week cohorts run Feb and Jul. Next: Jul 2026. source ↗

  • Skalata Ventures Australian pre-seed fund offering flexible capital and hands-on support; rolling applications via pitch portal; Sydney and Melbourne.
  • CSIRO ON Accelerate Free 3-month commercialisation program for research-driven ventures; up to $80K non-dilutive per team. Next apps: 27 Jul–31 Aug 2026.
  • Remarkable Australia+ Accelerator 16-week disability, health, and ageing tech accelerator; $100K AUD for 5% equity; annual Sydney-based cohort. 2025 cohort closed; watch for 2026 dates.
  • x15ventures Xccelerate CommBank's startup accelerator; up to $250K investment; seeks fintech and data/AI startups open to corporate partnership. Annual program; 2026 dates unconfirmed. source ↗

02 Government & non-dilutive funding

  • NSW MVP Ventures Program NSW grants up to $50K (or $75K for women/regional/Indigenous founders) to bring innovative products to market. Three rounds per FY; Round 3 2025-26 closed Apr 2026. source ↗
  • R&D Tax Incentive Federal program; 43.5% refundable tax offset for eligible R&D spend for companies with under $20M turnover. Ongoing; register via business.gov.au.
  • Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) Austrade matched funding up to $80K to help SMEs enter export markets. Round 4 closed; Round 5 dates not yet announced as at Jun 2026.
  • TechVouchers NSW NSW matched grants up to $50K for SME–researcher collaborations. Not open for direct applications; contact a Delivery Partner to access funding.

03 University programs

  • UNSW Founders 10x Accelerator UNSW's flagship accelerator; $100K SAFE, 10 weeks, streams in All Industries, Health, Climate, and Defence. 2026 apps closed; express interest for 2027. source ↗

  • UTS Startups UTS incubator and startup hub at Tech Central Ultimo; open to any founder via competitive entry; co-working space, programs, and events.
  • Launch Pad (Western Sydney University) WSU's startup accelerator and incubator with campuses in Parramatta and Penrith; programs for founders at all stages; applications currently open.
